Traditional, ancient Hindu system which is based on customs, beliefs and practices of the Hindu culture and aimed to achieve physical and mental harmony with nature. Foods and herbs are classified into 4 groups which are used to increase or decrease 3 principles or doshas (kaptha, pitta and vata).
